Toronto is the deepest wedding photography market in Canada, and that shows in the prices. You can find a newer photographer for a short day, an established studio for a full day, and a large team for a luxury celebration, all in the same city, all calling themselves wedding photographers. That range is why Toronto quotes are so hard to compare at a glance.
I am Mélanie, a Toronto wedding photographer. My style is refined, editorial, and natural light, with candid moments that still feel timeless rather than staged. This guide explains what wedding photography usually costs in Toronto, why Toronto often costs more than a smaller market, and exactly what my own collections cost, so you can tell market averages apart from my prices. This guide answers how much wedding photography costs in Toronto, what changes the price, and what my collections cost.

The short answer: what Toronto wedding photography usually costs
In short, most Toronto wedding photography costs $4,000 to $5,000 on average in market guides, while my collections start at $1,500 for 2 hours, $3,000 for 6 hours, and $4,800 for 10 hours.
Market guides for Toronto cluster around a higher base than Montreal, with a very wide top end. As general market context only, not my prices, a Toronto cost guide puts the average for wedding photography in Toronto at $4,000 to $5,000, with smaller packages starting around $2,500 to $3,000. An Ontario pricing guide puts most Toronto and GTA couples at $3,000 to $5,000 for eight hours with one photographer, with established names at $5,000 to $7,000. A Toronto studio price guide puts most couples’ base packages at $3,500 to $8,000 for 2025 to 2026.
The widest honest summary is this: expect roughly $3,000 to $5,000 for a solid eight hour day with an established Toronto photographer, more for a sought after studio or a full team, and less only for a genuinely shorter day or a newer photographer.
Why Toronto often costs more
Toronto demand is high, especially in peak season, and the market supports larger teams, studio overheads, and longer travel and parking time across the city. Venues also vary enormously, from historic downtown halls to gardens, restaurants, and modern spaces, and each one asks for different planning around light and timing.
Distance inside Toronto matters too. A ceremony, portraits, and reception in three different parts of the city need buffer time in the timeline, and a photographer who plans for that will protect your portraits instead of rushing them. That planning, and the editing time behind a full gallery, is a large part of what a Toronto price reflects.

What changes the price most in Toronto
Hours and team size
An eight hour day with one photographer is the common Toronto baseline in the market guides above. Ten hours, a second photographer, or a team for a large celebration moves the price up, because it moves shooting time, editing time, and gallery size up with it. A two hour elopement, by contrast, is a different package altogether, that is what the Intimate collection is for.
Engagement sessions, albums, and prints
An engagement session is included in the Legacy collections and available as a $500 add on otherwise. Engagement photos can also be added to a wedding album or print order. Ask early what is included and what can be added later, so you are not pressured to decide everything at once.
Season, venue, and timeline
Peak Saturdays, a dark reception hall, or a timeline with long drives between locations all add planning and editing complexity. A small, single location Toronto wedding with good natural light is simpler to photograph well than a large, multi location day, and a fair quote should reflect that difference.

How to compare Toronto quotes fairly
Write down the same five facts for every quote, before you compare numbers:
- Hours of coverage, and who is the photographer on the day
- Second photographer: included, add on, or not offered
- Edited image count and delivery time
- Whether travel to your Toronto venue is included, or quoted separately, and for how much
A Toronto quote with no hours attached is not a price. A quote that leaves out travel or editing is not finished.

A final thought on value in Toronto
Toronto weddings can be grand, intimate, historic, or modern, sometimes all in one day. What lasts is not the size of the room. It is how the day felt, and whether your photographs show your people honestly, in light that still looks like you years later. Look for full galleries that do that consistently, across venues and across light, not just one perfect highlight reel.
If you are planning a wedding in Toronto, I would love to hear about it.

Downtown Toronto wedding venues photograph beautifully for portraits, with city streets and modern backdrops. Historic hall wedding Toronto venues give grand interiors and classic details, garden wedding Toronto venues give natural light and relaxed portraits, restaurant wedding Toronto venues suit a smaller guest list, modern rooftop wedding Toronto venues give skyline views for couple portraits, and waterfront wedding Toronto venues give open sky for evening photos. Your venue type will shape how portraits and family photos are planned on the day, especially if your ceremony, portraits, and reception are in different parts of the city.
